Glorious Garden

Hello and welcome back!
To those who were able to join us in our blog hop last week, THANK YOU so much! It was such an inspiring hop to see all the creations made by the designers with their projectst using Tim Holtz products!  And I am so grateful for the chance to be part of the blog hop.  And to those who left a comment, I read them all... you guys are amazing! Thank you!

For my share today, these cards were at the the Creativation Stampers Anonymous Booth.  I used the Glorious Garden Stamps.  This stamp is quite big and this size comes with lots of possibilities.  You can use the whole stamp or just a part of it.

For the first card,  I stamped the image using Archival Jet Black ink on to a smooth watercolor paper. (Arches Hot Press 140 lb WC Paper) then colored the image using Distress Ink Reinkers. I used a thinned wash of Black Soot for the background.

For the second card, I stamped the image on rough watercolor paper (Canson Watercolor paper 140lbs) and this time, I chose a different angle of the stamp to use. This time, I used some colored pencils to color the image. For the background, I just lightly colored it with a light brown pencil.

These are my two cards for today.
This stamp from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous is already out on most online stores. So go grab one because this stamp is a versatile stamp you can use in various occasions!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Tim Holtz Creativation Blog Hop

Hi there.  It's so nice to have you drop by my blog today.  If you came from Kath Stewart's blog,
you are on the right track.

Welcome!

I am extremely excited to be part of this blog hop.  There are so many beautful projects to be showcased. And so many talented ladies! We are featuring cards and projects using Tim Holtz products and these cards/project were displayed at Tim's booths (Sizzix, Ranger, Stampers Anonymous) during the Creativation 2019 in Phoenix Arizona!
Some of you might have been there and attended the show and I am so jealous! But since some of my cards made it there, it felt like I was there too.  Next year, I hope to attend.

This blog hop with run until midnight of February 9th (PST).  Leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win 1 on the 3 prizes!

For my card today, I'm using one of the new Geo Insects Thinlits Dies.  I think these dies will be available by Spring. This set comes with 4 insects.

(The tutorial photos are not of the original project.  I had to recreate the card for this blog hop)

This card is quite easy to make. I used 3 shades of brown cardstock.
I die cut 2 insects for each shade of brown cardstock.
Then I used Distress Ink Pads and a ink blender tool to add shading to each die cut.

Then I glued them together but only on the body part of the insect (head, thorax and adbomen).
I left the wings out.

Using a patterned paper for the card front, I cut the insect 3 times, just like in the photo.  And using a slightly smaller white cardstock, I stamped a Script background and this will be the backing for the front panel

Then I adhered the back panel so the Script stamped image will show thru the cut out.  I then adhered the insect but only in its body so the wings are free to move.
I chose to go from dark to light from the bottom.

This is how I came out when I used Black Soot for the body and Walnut Stain for the wings.

Some hemp cord and a story stick to finish up the card

Then I added a brown cardstock to frame the card panel before adhering it to a card base.

I hope you enjoyed my simple card and got inspired.
Now it's time to hop to the next blog which is Mou Saha's blog
I am going to be hopping with you too because I am just as excited as you are!

If you are lost with in the blog hop, here's a list of all the blogs to visit.

Media Marks

Hello and welcome back!

Today I am sharing with you 2 cards using the new Media Marks 2 and the Mini Media Marks from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous. There are two sets of Media Marks Stamps (1 and 2) and the Mini Media Marks Set is a smaller versions of the 2 sets.

For my first card, I used the Media Marks 2 Stamp set. I stamped the ‘swirls’ several times on to watercolor paper and watercolor the images.  I then cut them and layered them to make a flower.  The leaves were also stamped and fussy cut.

For the background, I inked one side of the Bricked Texture Fade with Pumice Stone Distress Ink before sandwiching a piece of paper and running it throught the BigShot.  Then I cut the edges of the paper, outlining the bricks. Then I die cut some black cardstock using the Friendship Words: Script dies for the word 'hello'.

For the second card, I used the Mini Media Marks stamps set. I stamped and colored the leaves with watercolor and fussy cut them. A stamp with lines was perfect to make a pot. And the sentiment is from the Crazy Talk Stamp set. The background is the Flurry Stamp  from the Flurry and Pine Stamp set. I then stitched the edges before adhering to a grey cardstock panel then finally  to a card base.

Some hemp cord was tied around the pot and the sentiment tag attached to the bow.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

What’s moo?

Hello there and welcome to my blog.
This is going to be my first official post with a card.

Now that the Creativation 2019 is over, I’m sure a lot of us have been drooling over all the new stamps, inks and paper and everything else that was showcased during the show.

I wanna say I was there but not actually. Since a few of my cards made it to some booths at Creativation, I feel like I was there too.

So What’s Moo?  Well, Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous has  alot of new crafty goodness instored for us. For the month of January, there are 5 stamps sets to be released and 3 stencils.  And one of the stamp sets is called Funny Farm.

When I saw the stamp set, I fell inlove with the Cow.

I stamped this cute fellow on to watercolor paper and watercolored the image. I cut the colored image using the Stacked Postage Thinlits Die and added a black panel behind it.  For the background, I used the Plank from the Craze and Plank Stamp set (CMS344) and stamped it using
Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  I also added a black panel to frame the card before adhering it to a card base. Then I added a Typed Token and let it hang from a n Index Clip.  And on the corners of the card base, I used some Long Fasteners.

Thank you for stopping by I hope to see you again!

Welcome

Hello Friends!

Welcome to my new blog.

Just a little bit Sweet

My name is Mae and I am a crafter and a homeschool mom by day and a registered nurse by night.  I have been crafting for almost 10 years and blogged on and off for the last few years.
I have worked and designed for a few companies and shops in the past. And I enjoy making all kinds of crafty things.

As you can see this blog is still as plain as it can be.  Since I'm starting from a blank slate, bear with me as I start this journey with this new blog.

Within this week, I will be sharing some cards I have made for Tim Holtz for Creativation 2019.
So stay tuned.

love,

Mae
